Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The art historical journal Convivium, a leading periodical in medieval studies, celebrates its fifth anniversary (2014–2019). Indexed in the Web of Science, ERIH, SCOPUS, and ANVUR, with an international editorial board composed of eminent scholars, it offers miscellaneous and thematic volumes devoted to cutting-edge topics of the field, focusing on the space of the Mediterranean from the broadest possible perspective.
On the occasion of this celebration, we would like to personally invite you to a reception which will be held during the International Medieval Congress 2019 in Leeds, on the 3rd of July in the Foyer of the School of Music, from 19h–20h. The journal will be introduced by professor Julian Gardner from the University of Warwick.
It will be the occasion to celebrate the journal or to discover it, meeting with other medievalists and with the editor-in-chief, but also to benefit of special fifth anniversary celebration offers. Printed back issues, starting with the first volume from 2014 are being made available at half price.
It will also be the occasion to discover the book series Convivia, of which the first volume by Michele Bacci, The Mystic Cave, came out at the end of 2017. The second volume was dedicated to the results of the project Migrating Art Historians (2018). Just as the journal itself, this series of books is an attempt at bringing back the taste for the craft of the object to the field of scholarly publishing, by uniting innovative scholarship with refined graphic design.
We thus dearly hope to meet you during this event in the frame of the IMC 2019, hoping it could also prove to be the occasion to celebrate, meet, and discuss the legacies and futures of a shared field.
With kind regards,
Centre for Early Medieval Studies
